There’s a beautiful turn of phrase in the Greek language that I adore. When someone in our village didn’t recognize me, they didn’t ask, “Who are you?”Instead, they inquired, “Whose are you?”

I’ve had a strained relationship with feminism over the years. Unexpectedly, we reconciled this spring. Gloria Steinem turned 87-years old on March 25, and on her birthday I had the privilege of discussing the feminist icon with a panel of journalists gathered by the Bedford Playhouse. 

Today, I’m going back to the beginning, to my why. Why do I care about public speaking?

If you’re born and raised in Massachusetts, you’re a Patriots fan. I’m no different. I’m not the hard-core girl fan who sits with the boys and wears team gear, screaming at the TV.  I’m the peripheral fan, who loves pizza and snacks on a Sunday afternoon.
